How to use Europe’s first sovereign Legal AI Noxtua
Introduction
Europe’s first sovereign Legal AI Noxtua transforms your legal workflow.
Noxtua Review & Draft can be used for different use cases but is specifically tuned to answer questions about legal documents you have uploaded, analyze and summarize them, check them for compliance with company guidelines or your own templates, rewriting individual paragraphs to e.g. be more precise or more in your favor, etc...
Noxtua Research is an AI-powered legal research tool, that bases its answers to your legal queries on up-to-date legal texts from the dejure.org database, citing the relevant German and European laws and court decisions for transparency and further research.
Once logged in, you can switch between Noxtua Review & Draft and Noxtua Research via a button on the top right of the screen.
Noxtua has been trained specifically to be competent in European law, especially German at this point in time. Further training for French, UK, Spanish and Italian laws is scheduled that will improve the performance but you will find Noxtua already pretty competent across the board.
General guidelines
There is no need for complex prompt engineering to use Noxtua. Remember that it is specifically trained for legal work so, unlike general purpose models like ChatGPT, you don’t need to use personas like “as a lawyer” or “in a legal context”. Noxtua will do that by default.
Noxtua will answer in a more general or a more specific way depending on how your prompt is formulated. Be very specific to get more accurate answers.

Specifics for Noxtua Research
Ask short precise questions of up to 100 words.
Noxtua Research works best if you ask your questions in German, but you are welcome to try other languages as well.
Noxtua Research now “remembers” the flow of a discussion, allowing it to respond in a more natural and coherent way. You can ask several follow-up questions, making interactions with the AI even smoother and more human-like.
Documents cannot be uploaded to Noxtua Research yet. We are also already working on this, but for now please copy all relevant information into the text field.
Known limitations
The context window of the model is limited to 128,000 tokens, which, depending on language, translates to e.g. an average of 64,000 words in German and 96,000 words in English, so, depending on formatting, documents uploaded to Noxtua can be about 255 pages (German)/385 pages (English) long (standard pages with 250 words).

Noxtua Review & Draft:
Use Cases & Examples
Uploading Documents in Noxtua Review & Draft
Using Noxtua Review & Draft, you can also upload legal documents such as contracts. The language (German, English, French, ...) used in the documents or for prompting is not important. You can even load a contract in a certain language and prompt it in a different one.
Like in the example above, Noxtua Review & Draft can also compare different contracts. Just upload multiple documents, one after the other, using the document loading button:
Each document has a name that Noxtua displays after loading. You can refer to specific documents by name in your prompting later on, or all at once.
Documents in any machine-readable format can be uploaded (pdf, word, txt, etc...). If you have scans or photocopies, you will need to process them through an OCR engine before you can upload them.

Using checklists with Noxtua Review & Draft
Checklists can be used with Noxtua Review & Draft to assess incoming contracts or to generate new ones against specific requirements, like internal guidelines or general requirements like GDPR compliance
Checklists are a very powerful way to influence how the model conducts analysis or generates new clauses or contracts. You can align Noxtua Review & Draft with your standards and ensure that specific points are validated or that certain vocabulary or style is used when drafting new clauses or contracts.
The checklist itself is a free format list of criteria, possibly with some explanation.
It can be saved in a document (PDF or word) and loaded during the session or can be added to the prompt itself.
For instance, here are two examples of what a checklist can look like.
How to use checklists
Example: Check if an incoming DPA is compliant with the company's GDPR standards:
Load the checklist and incoming DPA:
Possible prompt:
Review the DPA against the checklist. For all the items of the checklist, add a bullet point starting with a descriptive title of the issue, followed by “yes” or “no” (in bold) if the respective issue is fulfilled in the DPA, a description of the issue and the section of the DPA where the issue is reflected.
Changing the output format
For instance, if you add “Please present the results as a table” at the end of the prompt in the example above, Noxtua will structure the reply in the form of a table.
Writing a Blog article or creating a PowerPoint presentation on a legal topic
You can use Noxtua Review & Draft to write blog articles or the text for presentations.
Example: Creating a blog article and presentation on what lawyers practicing in Germany need to consider regarding Section 203 StGB and Section 43e BRAO when selecting IT suppliers

Structure the article into title, introduction, main part and conclusion and mention that the guidelines apply to lawyers practicing in Germany.
